German mom seeks TCM treatment of her unconscious son

A German mother holds her 8-year-old son in a
Shanghai hospital August 22, 2004. Her son, Dominic, suddenly became unconscious on
May 15 after saying feeling dizzy and nausea. Doctors in
Germany and Britain she visited all said her son could never become
conscious again. By chance, she asked a doctor in Germany to apply
acupuncture on Dominic, he opened his eyes. The mother began to
believe that acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine would be only
way to save his son, and they came to China. Now, Dominic is treated in
Shanghai Huashan Hospital. Doctors at the hospital say they will do
their best to treat Dominic but are not sure they could cure the
disease because no one knows for sure the cause of this disease.
