Small on-screen-graphics ads banned

The State Administration of Radio, Film and Television has sent a clear message to local TV stations across the nation that they need to crack down on these small but subtly intrusive TV images before next Wednesday.

In addition, advertisements for medical treatment, health products and other goods or services related to public health need to be submitted for checks and even shutdown if the content contravenes relevant regulations.

Because of this health department notice, TV stations will have to suspend medical treatment adverts for certain illnesses such as venereal diseases, psoriasis, HIV/AIDS, cancer, falling sickness and vertigo.

Recently there have been some adverts guilty of exaggerating the effectiveness of products whilst others have completely failed to follow advertising laws.
