Individual income tax tops US$10b in 1st half

China has collected a total of 88. 118 billion yuan (US$10.7 billion) of individual income tax in the first half of 2004.

Compared with the same period of 2003, the revenue has increased 15.056 billion (US$1.8 billion) or 20.6 percent, according to statistics released by the State Administration of Taxation.

The state administration also required taxation authorities to list new high-income sectors and readjust the list of new key tax payers.
