Hero loses life after saving drowning girl

Shen Jiasheng, a 23-year-old man from Datang village of Kaifu District of Changsha, capital city of Hunan Province, was drowned after he successfully saved a woman who had fallen into a pond, Changsha Evening News reports.

Shen worked in a hotel. He was invited by two girls working in the same hotel to chat by a nearby pond on Saturday evening. As they were chatting by the pond, Zhou, one of the two girls, suddenly fell into the pond.

Although not able to swim, Shen jumped into the pond immediately to save Zhou. He just stood on the bottom of the pond and raised Zhou to keep her head above the water. Zhou was pulled out of the water by the other girl, but Shen died in the water.
