Venezuela eliminated, Bolivia in danger

Venezuela and Bolivia have both reached a result they were not happy with as they held each other to a 1-1 draw. For Venezuela this means elimination while Bolivia have a small chance left to advance to the next round.

In the 26th minute of the match, Moran opened the score for Venezuela but six minutes later Galindo levelled for the Bolivians. Neither team managed to hit the net a second time during the remainder of the match.

As the two best numbers three qualify for the quarter finals, Bolivia's position seems vulnerable as Chile will need a draw of 2-2 or higher, or a win against Group C minnows Costa Rica on Wednesday to go through and eliminate Bolivia.

Meanwhile Argentina, who are currently third in Group B, are practically certain of making it to the next round as they already have more points than Bolivia. Who takes the first position in Group A, depends on the match between Peru and Colombia later tonight.
