Food poisoning sickens 125 in Nanchang

A total of 125 people were sickened by food poisoning Tuesday evening in Nanchang City of east China's Jiangxi Province, with no deaths reported so far.

People started to report symptoms of nausea, vomiting and diarrhea at around 6:00 p.m. Tuesday in Nanchang after eating pickles of a local brand, treated duck feet and duck wings.

By 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, 125 people had been hospitalized for medical treatment, many of them adolescents, according to a written notice released by the local government.

The local food safety monitoring department has started a thorough check on stores selling the brand of "Huangshanghuang" and seized all its warehoused items.
