Pakistan compensates Chinese victims

The remains of the three Chinese engineers killed in a car bomb attack in Pakistan have been brought back to China by a special plane of the Pakistan air force.

A handover and mourning ceremony was held at Tianjin international airport. Government officials from both countries expressed their condolence to the three victims and their families.

As well, the Pakistani government has compensated 145,000 US dollars to all of the Chinese victims.

The three Chinese nationals were killed Monday when an unoccupied car exploded near their bus in the southern port city of Gwadar. Hundreds of Chinese are working there on a deep seaport .

The attack also left nine Chinese and two Pakistanis injured.

The Chinese government has urged Pakistan to find out what motivated the incident and to take effective measures to ensure the safety of Chinese nationals in Pakistan.
