15 trapped in flooded coal mine in north China

Fifteen people are trapped in a flooded coal mine Friday in Wuhai City in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

The coal mine, named Xinyuan Coal Mine, is located in Hainan District of Wuhai City. Owner of the coal mine, Wei Lian, is from Datong City in north China's Shanxi Province.

Thirty two miners were working underground when the accident occurred at 09"Preliminary investigation shows the miners might have dug into an abandoned mine shaft filled with water or an underground spring.

Rescue work is now underway.
