Coal mine accident trapping 14 in Shanxi

An accident at a coal mine occurred on Friday morning in Xixian County of Linfen City, north China's Shanxi Province, leaving 14 miners trapped.

There were 49 miners working underground at the Liangjiahe Coal Mine in Xixian County, when the accident happened at 7:40 a.m. Thirty-five out of the 49 people have been rescued so far, and the remaining 14 are still trapped.

No detailed information has been revealed about the accident because of poor telecommunications. Whether it was a gas blast, a shaft collapse or well flooding remains unknown till now.
