约旦王室4月11日宣布，国王阿卜杜拉的妹妹哈雅公主与迪拜王储谢赫·穆罕默德·本·拉希德·阿勒马克图姆于10日在约旦王宫举行了订婚仪式。外电中说：Jordan's Princess Haya, daughter of the late King Hussein and half-sister of King Abdullah II, was engaged here to Dubai's Crown Prince General Mohammed bin Rashed al-Maktoum, the palace announced. 句中engaged的意思是“已订婚的”。又如：Did you know that Eleanor is engaged to Philip?（你知道埃莉诺和菲利普订婚了吗？）有关报道透露，哈雅公主和迪拜王储的爱情绝对属于门当户对、十分般配的类型。除了拥有同样尊贵的身份，他们两人还有不少相同爱好，可谓“情投意合”。
