San Antonio also moved to within one and a half games of the Western Conference overall lead as the defending champions beat the Lakers for the first time in four tries this season.

Gilbert Arenas had 32 points as the Washington Wizards stalled the Boston Celtics drive to the playoffs with a 112-102 victory over the Celtics.
