Phenix TV hostess Liu Hai-roh expected back to job Hong Kong Phoenix TV news anchor Liu Hai-roh, who was severely injured in a British train accident in 2002, may be back on the job soon.
Reportedly, if health permits Liu will return to work as a broadcaster after June. Liu suffered a severe brain trauma in the derailment. Two companions, both Taiwanese reporters, died in the accident and Liu stayed in a coma for weeks. After that, she was treated in Beijing for more than a year. According to the hospital responsible for her treatment, Liu has recuperated well and is able to move around freely and express herself clearly. But Liu occasionally still suffers from transient amnesia, the hospital said. According to her mother, Liu was so excited about returning to Taiwan that she didn't sleep well for two days. She has been away from Taiwan for nearly two years. Liu's biggest wish is to visit the tombs and families of her two dead
colleagues, her mother said. As for her family, their greatest aspiration is to
see Liu live independently. |
