They were an enviable couple - he has a good post in a government department, she is vice president of a private company and they have a lovable daughter - but the couple in Wuhan of Hubei Province is facing divorce, Wuhan Morning Post reports.

With his wife's full support, Cheng devoted all his energy to work and become head of his unit. However, after his wife got a senior position in a privately-owned company in 2000, she spent most of her time at work, ignoring the family.

Quarrels about family chores began getting frequent; and last month, the matter escalated into divorce proceedings.
