Monkey King actor to recruit foreign successor

Zhang Jinlai, known as Liuxiao Lingtong for playing the
role of Monkey King in the Chinese classic "Pilgrimage to the West," wants to
recruit disciples from abroad to uphold the tradition of the "Monkey King
Family" which has spanned four generations, Beijing Youth Daily reports.
Zhang had checked out 1,000-plus actors from acrobatic
troupes across the country, but his attempt failed.
"If foreigners are willing and suitable to act as Monkey
King, I'm ready to take them as my successor," Zhang said.
Zhang's family
has a time-honoured history of acting in the role of the household name,
which dates back to his great-grandfather.
