Xinning
Xinning, as the capital city of Qinghai Province, is also the largest city in the Qing-Tibet Altiplano.
Situated in the eastern part of Qinghai Province, Xinning covers 7,671 square kilometers, but has a population of only 1.11 million.
The city has a 2000-year-old history. Originally called “Xipingting” -- once a capital of the Nan Liang Dynasty – the city is also the key point of the southern branch of the Silk Road
The continental mid-drought climate moderates temperatures, eliminating bitter coldness in the winter and heat waves in the summer. |
