Redneck

Redneck, 指那些思想很顽固，没受过什么教育的农民、乡巴佬（a person who lives in a country area, especially one who is uneducated or poor and has strong, unreasonable opinions）。

这个词最初起源于美国南部，指那些白人农场中整天在烈日炎炎下劳作的人，这些人颈部总是被晒得发红。这个词早期在阿肯色州和密西西比河地区用得比较多，而且是被南方人用做称呼社会下层的一种歧视性用语。后来北方人把这个词用做对南方乡乡巴佬的泛称。

Redneck和“乡巴佬”一样，本身就带有贬义，可不要不分场合地使用。
