( 2003-11-28 13:55) (Agencies)

Jermaine O'Neal had 27 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Indiana Pacers to their seventh consecutive win, a 93-70 decision over the New York Knicks in NBA play Thursday.

Ron Artest added 21 points for the Pacers, who have the best record in the NBA at 13-2.

Indiana broke open a tight game with an 18-2 run in the third quarter and held the Knicks to a season-low 70 points.

The Pacers have the best defensive record in the NBA, as they've held their opponents to just 81.4 points per game coming into Thursday's tilt.

Indiana has held its opponents to under 79 points in eight of the last nine games.

Al Harrington added 12 points for the Pacers.

Kurt Thomas (news) led New York with 12 points and nine rebounds, as the Knicks lost for the first time in four games despite going 20-for-20 from the free throw line.

Frank Williams added 11 points for the Knicks, who shot just 35 percent from the field.

The Pacers wore their throwback jerseys for the game, commemorating their 1971-72 and 1972-73 ABA championship teams.
