Beckham may move out of Spain to save marriage
( 2003-11-04 10:01) (Newindpress,UK)

England soccer captain David Beckham may leave Spanish club Real Madrid and return home to save his marriage, a leading tabloid reported on Sunday.

Beckham's celebrity wife Victoria has broken her pledge to join him in Spain and the Real Madrid star has told friends he may have to return home to save his marriage, The News of The World reported.

The 29-year-old Victoria has not fulfilled her promise to move to Spain with kids Brooklyn, 4 and Romeo, 1, because she is busy with her music career.

Now the England captain is thinking about joining the newly-rich Chelsea club to keep his family together, the report said.

The club's Russian billionaire owner Roman Abramovich has already spent 112 million pounds on big soccer names.

According to the tabloid, Becks phoned a close pal to say "Things haven't changed, really. Victoria is working on her solo-career so she won't be moving over here permanently at the moment.

"I really miss her. I love her so much and miss my boys and have been thinking about finishing my football career back home.

"Chelsea is an option _ possibly within two years. I'm playing the best football of my career but my marriage means everything to me. I don't know what to do."

Beckham, believed to have rented a 4.5 million pound house in Madrid, has run up a 433,000-pound bill in three months at the five-star Santa Mauro hotel. But in the past three weeks Victoria has spent just five days there.
