Two US soldiers hurt in Baghdad blast
( 2003-10-22 14:09) (Agencies)

A roadside bomb exploded Wednesday in a tunnel in the heart of the Iraqi capital as a U.S. military convoy passed by, residents said. A U.S. Army officer said two soldiers were slightly injured.

The blast, which could be heard in a wide area in the center of the city, occurred about 6:45 a.m. after three U.S. Army Humvees entered the tunnel at Tayeran Square, witnesses said.

Capt. Tommy Leslie of the 1st Armored Division said two soldiers were slightly hurt but would be returned to duty later in the day. One Humvee was damaged.
