Keegan heading for Foe memorial match in Lyon
( 2003-09-15 10:40) (Agencies)

Manchester City's Kevin Keegan will help coach an All-Stars side in a memorial match for the late Cameroon midfielder Marc-Vivien Foe in France.

Foe died of a heart problem shortly after collapsing during Cameroon's Confederations Cup semi-final in June against Colombia in Lyon, one of his former clubs.

The game will be played at Lyon on November 11, with Keegan, who coached Foe during his spell at City, working alongside France manager Jacques Santini as their side take on Cameroon.

"I will do it and I want to take some players from here," Keegan told the City website.

"I have met up with Marc's wife, she has been here to see us and it is my job and our job at Manchester City to make sure that she is looked after in anyway that we can."

Gate receipts and sponsorship from the game will go to Foe's family and also help fund a foundation bearing his name.

Players from Foe's other former clubs, Lyon and Lens, will also take part.

France striker Thierry Henry, who dedicated his goal in their semi-final win over Turkey to Foe, may also play.
