Hong Kong and China Gas Co Ltd has expanded its China investments by signing on for two piped gas ventures in East China's Shandong Province, with a total project investment of 250 million yuan (US$30 million) each.

It will set up joint ventures to supply and manage piped gas in the city of Jinan with a 60 per cent equity interest and in Weihai with a 50 per cent stake, the company said in a statement.

Jinan Pipeline Gas Company and Weihai Gasworks General Company, the local partners of the projects, will hold the balance of the respective ventures.

The projects will have a registered capital of 100 million yuan (US$12 million) each.
