( 2003-09-05 06:42) (newsphoto)

Two fire trucks provide support to extinguish a blaze which happened on Wednesday in the body of the Kiev, a former Soviet Union aircraft carrier, which was retired from active duty and subsequently bought by China and stationed in Qinhuangdao, a coastal city of North China's Hebei Province. The fire killed two workers who were refitting the carrier for tourism and other purposes in the Shanhaiguan dockyard of Qinhuangdao. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
