Traffic accidents kill 34
( 2003-08-29 09:08) (China Daily)

A total of 34 people have been killed in several traffic accidents in three provinces of China, Xinhua News Agency reported yesterday.

A bus carrying 36 people plunged off the road Thursday afternoon in Fufeng County, Northwest China's Shaanxi Province, killing 23 and injuring 13.

The bus set off from Xi'an, the provincial capital, to Baoji of the province.

Seven people were killed Wednesday morning and another five injured in two separate traffic accidents in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang Province.

Both accidents happened on the east section of the loop-line road encompassing the city.

On Monday in Qingyang in Northwest China's Gansu Province, a small bus carrying 10 people was swept away by water flooding from a river, leaving four dead and five still missing, authorities said.
