Snake in wardrobe frightens family ( 2003-08-12 10:22) (China Daily) Li's family sighed with relief
after a snake found in a wardrobe in their house was finally taken away.
Li's son first spotted the snake at their home in Nanguan at 2:30 pm last
Wednesday, but it slithered away too quickly for him to track it.
The family detected the snake's speckled, sandy-coloured skin amid clothes in
the wardrobe and called police. An officer removed the more than
60-centimetre-long reptile.
Experts say the recent spate of snakes turning up in residential areas is
mainly due to old houses being demolished and their resting places being
disturbed. They added that most were of those found were non-poisonous
varieties, reports Beijing Evening News.
