A technical school has opened at Shenzhen Prison in a bid to help prisoners prepare to re-enter society after serving out their terms, reports Guangzhou Daily.

The most popular courses are those teaching electrician skills and how to make clothes, said prison officials.

Zhenghang School also plans to offer courses on household-appliance repair, estate management and computer skills.

Inmates who successfully complete courses at the school may apply for skilled-worker certificates.
