April, 28, 2003   A pipe bomb rips through the departures terminal of Jakarta airport, killing 11 people.

April 24, 2003   A small bomb explodes behind a U.N. building in Jakarta. No one is injured.

Oct. 12, 2002   Three near-simultaneous blasts rock a resort on the island of Bali killing 202 people, mostly foreign tourists. Police blame the Southeast Asian terror group Jemaah Islamiyah for the attacks.

July 1, 2002   A bomb kills one person and injures six at a Jakarta supermarket near a large army housing complex, where many of Indonesia high-ranking generals live.

Jan.1, 2002   A hand grenade blows up in front of a restaurant at a busy shopping center in Jakarta, killing one person during New Year celebrations.

Sept. 23, 2001   A car bomb wrecks the basement of a Jakarta supermarket, but kills no one. Police say Jemaah Islamiyah militants may have been responsible.

Dec. 24, 2000   16 people are killed during a wave of Christmas Eve bombings that hit dozens of churches in 10 cities across Indonesia. Alleged Jemaah Islamiyah chief Abu Bakar Bashir is currently on trial for the bombings.

Sept. 13, 2000   A car bomb explodes inside the garage of the Jakarta Stock Exchange building, killing 10 people and injuring 16. Police claim Acehnese separatists rebels are behind the explosion. The rebels say they had nothing to do with it.

Aug. 1, 2000   A bomb kills two people and seriously injures the Philippine Ambassador to Indonesia. Police say the attack was mounted to avenge an assault that ousted the Muslim separatist Moro Islamic Liberation from their camp on the Philippine southern island of Mindanao in 1999.

April 19, 1999   The ground floor of Jakarta main Istiqlal mosque is destroyed by a bomb allegedly set off by Jemaah Islamiyah extremists. No one is injured.
