Chinese company donates cars to upcoming ASEM meeting

Huachen Golden Cup Automobile Co. Ltd, a Chinese car manufacturer donated 30 cars Thursday for the Fifth ASEM (Asia-Europe Meeting) Economic Ministers' Meeting to be held in the port city of Dalian in northeast China's Liaoning Province from July 22 to 24.

The cars will be used for transportation for the gathering, said Zhou Yongjiang, deputy president of the Huachen Golden Cup Automobile Co. Ltd, based in Shenyang, capital city of Liaoning.

Zhonghua cars were developed by China and this will be the first time they would serve an international event, he said.

About 300 delegates are expected to participate in the ASEM meeting, which will be the biggest and highest level international event held in China since the defeat of SARS.
