Shanghai Stock Exchange upgrades communications system
( 2003-07-08 09:25) (Xinhua)

Officials from the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) announced Monday that from now on the SSE will use a more powerful broadband system to meet the growing need for communications.

SSE officials said that the new broadband satellite broadcast communications system had proven more capable and stable after a year of trial operation. It can refresh the market figures 10 times per minute, twice as frequently as the original one. It can also send real-time information from the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.

The new system was able to transmit the data of each deal when the daily volume of deals hit as much as 200 billion yuan, and built-in encryption devices would significantly cut the possibilities of data leakage during transmission.
