Hu Jintao calls for all-round implementation of "Three Represents"theory
( 2002-06-02 13:56) (CPC general secretary Hu Jintao)

All members of the Communist Party of China (CPC) should continue to uphold the Deng Xiaoping Theory, fully implement the "Three Represents" theory and prepare for the convocation of the 16th CPC Congress by fulfilling, to the best of their abilities, the tasks of reform, development and stability.

Hu Jintao, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China's (CPC) Central Committee, made this appeal on Monday at the opening ceremony of the autumn semester of the CPC Party School.

The May 31 speech given by CPC General Secretary Jiang Zemin inthe CPC Party School is another important Marxist document, following the one he made on July 1 last year, said Hu, who is also a member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee and the president of the CPC Party School.

Jiang's latest speech is an important political, ideological and theoretical preparation for the 16th Party Congress, Hu said, adding that the study of Jiang's new instructions deepens the understanding of the "Three Represents" theory.

The "Three Represents" theory, created by Jiang, calls on the CPC to always represent the development trend of China's advanced productive forces, the orientation of China's advanced culture and the fundamental interests of the overwhelming majority of the Chinese people.

Also those present at the ceremony was Zeng Qinghong, an alternate member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, a member of the CPC Central Committee Secretariat, and director of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee.

The ceremony was presided over by Yu Yunyao, vice-president of the CPC Party School.
