Striker Pauleta wants to stay with Bordeaux Portugal striker Pedro Pauleta wants to stay with French first division side Girondins Bordeaux next season, he said on Thursday. "I've made up my mind in favour of Bordeaux. But I would like a team capable of clinching the title next year," he told a press conference. The 29-year-old joined Bordeaux in September 2000 and is the league's top scorer with 21 goals this season. Pauleta, who is due to go to the World Cup finals in South Korea and Japan starting on May 30, also helped his club win the League Cup by beating struggling Lorient 3-0 last week. Bordeaux, currently sixth in the first division, host second-placed Olympique Lyon on Saturday with two matches left. Portugal have been drawn with co-hosts South Korea, Poland and the US in the group stage of the World Cup. |
