Harry Kewell beat Leeds United and Australia team mate Mark Viduka by four votes to win the Oceania Footballer-of-the-Year Award, the Oceania Football Confederation said on Monday.

Kewell, 23, polled 87 votes ahead of Viduka on 83 and fellow Australia players Brett Emerton on 59 and Craig Moore on 23.

Kewell won the award in 1999 and was runner-up to Viduka last year.

The Leeds strikers were prominent in the club's English Premier League and European campaigns and Australia's unsuccessful World Cup qualifying series against Uruguay last year.

Australia's media have reported midfielder Emerton is poised to leave Dutch club Feyenoord for English Premier League team Newcastle United.

Moore, who plays for Glasgow Rangers, gave some eye-catching performances in defence for Australia against France and Uruguay.
