Police intercept truck loaded with explosives in New York Police have arrested two people and have intercepted a truck loaded with explosives on New York's George Washington Bridge, according to an unconfirmed local CBS television report. "The truck contained enough explosives to blow up the entire span," a television reporter said. Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik confirmed that "the Port Authority police stopped a van that might have had explosives," but added in remarks to NY1 television that "it is unconfirmed." The George Washington Bridge links the northern part of Manhattan island with New Jersey and is the only bridge spanning the Hudson River. |
