A special exhibition of archaeological findings from the site of Mount Yu and site of Mount Wugui in Zhenhai, Ningbo, Zhejiang province kicked off at the Ningbobang Museum in Ningbo on Dec 3.

Titled "Smiles from Ancient Times", the exhibit showcases about 200 excavated relics including bowls, plates, lamps, jars and bottles. The most eye-catching items are two "smile pottery ears" in different colors dating back 6,500 years, which give the exhibition its name.

The cultural expert from Ningbo Xu Jiancheng was touched by the smile on the pottery. Xu said the unearthed "smile" represents the Hemudu people's attitude towards life and it should be the attitude of Ningbo people.
