Ten classic puppet performances were presented at the opening, including Germany's Extraordinary Voyage, Holland's Mystery of Villa Phantom, Australia's Dreamer in the Deep, Chinese cultural heritage Three Mice from Hunan province and traditional Long Silk Dance from the Sichuan area.

"Puppet shows have the charm to easily cross the culture and language barrier. With thousands of years of history, puppet shows are for the whole world," said Wang Jingxian, head of Quanzhou Marionette Troupe China, stressing the importance of cultural exchanges in this special art.
