Bunch of grapes sells for $11,000 in Japan

On our Sina Weibo

A bunch of red grapes fetched a record price of 1.2 million yen ($11,000), at the first auction of the season in Ishikawa prefecture in Japan. This makes it the most expensive since the Ruby Roman variety came to the market 12 years ago. Its appeal stems from the grape being extremely juicy with little acidity and a high sugar content. Forty bunches were put up for auction. Each grape, developed by the Ishikawa prefectural government, weighs more than 20 grams, reported Kyodo News Agency.
