Two hours before Tuesday night's 8-4 loss to the Colorado Rockies, Cashman tried to explain how New York would approach the July 31 trade deadline.
"I know everybody wants to (say), 'Are you buyers, are you sellers?' If anything right now, we'd be buyers, not sellers," he said.
