An Tian, who was born in the United States and studied overseas, became an overnight sensation for his appearance on If You Are the One, a popular TV dating show. After asking the women what they would do with $10 million, he said he would use the cash to start a charity and find a woman who shares his altruistic dream.

When An Tian cited the well-known Harvard saying, "Enter to grow in wisdom; depart to serve better thy country and thy kind", to show his dream in helping the poor, it was the most exciting moment of the show. It helped me understand why Bill Gates and Warren Buffett want to contribute a majority of their wealth to charities. It's an impressive universal value in developed countries that a citizen should "pay something back".
