Auction for quake survivors

A charity banquet and auction was due to be held on March 27 to raise money for earthquake survivors and the poor in China, the Legal Evening News reported. More than 300 government officials, famous philanthropists, entrepreneurs and celebrities were set to attend the event, it said. Some private collections donated by celebrities were due to be auctioned off during the evening. It was co-hosted by the Sequoia Capital and the China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation.
