Wen vows to enhance ties with emerging economies

Beijing - China is willing to promote cooperation among emerging economies, Premier Wen Jiabao said at a meeting with Brazilian Foreign Minister Antonio Patriota on Thursday, a month ahead of the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) summit.

Brazil is a sincere friend and strategic partner of China, Wen told Patriota, the first top official from the South American country to visit China since Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff took office in January.

China is willing to enhance communication with the new Brazilian leadership, deepen political trust, enlarge trade and investment and promote scientific and cultural cooperation, according to a press release.
