Kid disease doubles, schools disinfect

The number of hand-foot-mouth disease cases more than doubled last week to 241 compared to the same period last year, the municipal health bureau said. The figure was also 32 percent higher than the previous week. At least 97 percent of the patients were children.

Haidian district health authorities started to disinfect more than 230 kindergartens in the district to prevent the spread of the disease.
