'Public days' idea at sessions
The media bring us the deliberations and developments of the annual sessions of the National People's Congress (NPC) and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). Though people can watch the NPC deputies and CPPCC members on TV or read about them in newspapers, many of them would still like to talk with them face to face.
The hotels where the deputies and members stay, however, are not open to the public. Only hotel staff and reporters are allowed to enter. I wonder whether it is possible to set aside one or two "public days" to allow ordinary citizens to watch the proceedings and interact with the NPC deputies and CPPCC members.
