Nissan: Beijing design studio

Nissan Motor Co announced last Monday that it will invest 11.76 million yuan to establish an automobile design studio in Beijing, the first to be built by a Japanese carmaker in China. It is scheduled to open in 2011.

With the new Beijing design office, the carmaker aims to enhance its localization in designs and to develop models catering to the needs and values of Asian consumers. The studio will employ some 20 designers, mainly from China.
