Official denies taking birthday party bribes

An official from Chaoyang district health inspection station, accused of accepting birthday presents of cash from schools of migrant students, said the charge was a malicious attack.

"The invitations were to my birthday party last Saturday night. They did not ask for birthday money - I was wronged," said the official surnamed Guo.

Guo, 55, claims the invitation was an attempt to cure his loneliness.
