Captor jailed for 18 months for beating
A man who illegally confined and beat another who owed him money has been sentenced to 18 months in prison by Miyun district court, the court said on Monday. He was also ordered to pay 8,438 yuan in compensation.
The man, surnamed Zhang, kidnapped the victim, surnamed Sun, on Dec 7, 2004. Zhang beat Sun and forced him to sign an IOU for 193,900 yuan before releasing him the next day.
