The reality that is China

We often read that countries in the East such as China and India attach too much importance to what the West says about them, be it criticism or appreciation. Perhaps this has something to do with Eastern culture.

Since we developing countries are trying to improve the standard of living of our peoples with the available resources, such thinking has to change. China and India registered more than 8 percent GDP growth each last year despite the global economic downturn. Their projected growth rate this year is similar, though China's is a bit higher. Some of the Western countries may not support China's policies, yet in the heart of heart they know the importance of the developments taking place in the country.
