Updated: 2009-08-03 07:45 Plague under control One person has died of pneumonic plague that infected 11 others in Hainan Tibetan autonomous prefecture of Qinghai province, said officials at the province's health bureau Saturday night. The 11 infected, who have been hospitalized in quarantined wards, are in stable condition. Most of them are relatives of the dead, a 32-year-old herdsman, said a press release from the bureau. The province sent a team of experts to the area and had the plague under control, officials said. (China Daily 08/03/2009 page3) |
