Datang books big loss
China Datang Corp, the nation's second-biggest power company by capacity, had a loss of 6.35 billion yuan last year because of higher fuel costs.
The Beijing-based parent of Hong Kong-listed Datang International Power Generation Co paid 18 billion yuan more for coal purchases in 2008, company president Zhai Ruoyu said in a report posted on its website yesterday.
