WASHINGTON: US Congress killed a $14-billion package to help struggling automakers on Thursday, after a partisan dispute over union wage cuts derailed a last-ditch effort to revive the emergency aid before the end of the year.
Sino-Indian anti-terror drill a success

The China-Japan-South Korea Summit will be held in Fukuoka, Japan on Saturday. It will symbolize the official initiation of the strategic cooperation framework between the three countries and the upgrading of East Asia's regional strategic cooperation.

Beijing is famous for its city walls, which were built to protect the emperor and people against northern invaders. Connecting these walls were massive gates and each had a special function.
