Bush's main role: American top fan

Politics and diplomacy are high on his agenda, but US President George W. Bush has made it clear his main role in Beijing is that of America's "First Fan" at the Games.

The US first family was at Wukesong Gymnasium last night to cheer its men's basketball team, which defeated China 101-70.

At their afternoon meeting, Bush talked with Premier Wen Jiabao about the US-China game. Wen told Bush that it "will draw the attention of people across the world".
