Buffalo-towed BMW on parade in car return bid

Passers-by in downtown Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong province, were recently transfixed at the sight of a water buffalo towing a BMW sedan along the main road.

The tableau was the brainchild of a woman surnamed Ma, owner of the sedan.

Ma said that she paid 700,000 yuan for the BMW three months ago, but the car has been in for repairs of various problems, notably a spontaneous flameout, ever since.

As the problem persisted, Ma asked BMW to exchange the car, but was refused.

Ma conducted her minor street parade in hopes it would rally public support of her demand for compensation.

The automaker has since promised to resolve the problem.
